The Port of Rotterdam Authority, Nextlogic and Portbase have joined forces to work together on the efficient and reliable handling of container barges in the port of Rotterdam. The optimal exchange of information related to ship and cargo via Portbase goes hand in hand with the integrated planning of all container barge calls by Nextlogic. This will be made available to the container barge sector via one central gateway.

Nextlogic offers an integrated planning for the handling of container barge shipping in the port of Rotterdam. This leads to an optimal deployment of assets and makes the container barge chain efficient and reliable.

Portbase connects all the parties in the logistics chains of the Dutch ports. Through the Port Community System, Portbase facilitates the exchange of data between companies and government bodies in order to operate faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively. Together with the growing community, Portbase continuously makes the sharing of data more valuable. The aim is to make the Dutch port community, and therefore the ports, the smartest in Europe. Portbase is neutral, from and for the port community and does not have a profit motive.

The Port of Rotterdam Authority endeavours to strengthen the competitive position of the port of Rotterdam as a logistics hub and a world-class industrial complex. It not only focuses on size, but also on quality in this respect. For this reason, the Port of Rotterdam Authority is a pioneer in the transition to sustainable energy and is committed to digitisation to make the port and the trade flows even more efficient. The two core tasks of the Port of Rotterdam Authority are respectively the sustainable development, management and operation of the port and ensuring that shipping traffic is handled smoothly and safely.
